Overall Academic objective

The UC has high quality standards in teaching, research, and links with the community to position itself as one of the best universities not only nationwide but in Latin America, as well.

Overall Developmental objective

The UC educates well-trained professionals, capable of achieving important positions in public and private organizations and institutions. Besides, the research done by the UC contributes to the development of the Austro-Ecuatoriano region and the country itself, Ecuador, which brings in a better quality of life for its inhabitants.

Specific Academic objective

The Transversal Project manages change processes to help improve the quality and efficiency in key aspects of teaching and research.

Specific Developmental objective

The UC has experienced major internal changes in recent years, and it is confronted with a new external environment especially related to government policies; however, it has managed to keep an organizational structure to continue promoting high quality standards in teaching and research by training professionals and scientists who are committed to the improvement of the quality of life in the country. For instance, support to research is being emphasized by getting constant training to researchers as well as organizing resources in favour of research. Besides, the UC has envisioned the need to bring scattered research together to promote interdisciplinary collaboration. Besides, the Transversal Project continues playing an important role in the organizational change during the 2nd phase. After a process of analysis with the main stakeholders, these overall and specific objectives, in the academic and developmental areas, are presented now.
