The National and International Cooperation Department is responsible for establishing and strengthening links with national and international institutions, organizations and actors, facilitating academic, cultural and professional exchange. In an interdependent global context, we promote the principle of “think globally and act locally”, which means that our initiatives not only seek to provide solutions to international challenges, but also to generate direct benefits for our local community. Through collaboration with universities, governmental entities and national and international organizations, our goal is to promote projects that, without losing sight of global realities, contribute to development, innovation and well-being in our region. In this way, each international action translates into a concrete impact that strengthens our local identity and contributes to our common progress.

About the Program
The University of Cuenca, through the National and International Cooperation Office, offers its students the UCUENCA Global Outbound International Mobility Program, an initiative aimed at promoting academic internationalization and educational enrichment.
This program offers UCUENCA regular students the possibility of spending one academic semester in foreign universities with which the institution has cooperation agreements or which are part of international networks of which UCUENCA is a member. The courses taken and passed at the host university can be validated according to the institutional procedures in force.
The international mobility experience allows participants to access new teaching methodologies, integrate into multicultural environments, expand their academic and professional networks, as well as strengthen key competencies for their personal and professional development, such as autonomy, adaptation and global perspective.
The University of Cuenca reaffirms its commitment to the integral formation of its students, promoting opportunities that transcend national borders and prepare its future professionals for an increasingly interconnected world.

Virtual Mobility
The UCUENCA Global Virtual International Mobility Program is aimed at regular students of the University of Cuenca who wish to take individual courses in foreign universities in online mode, allowing students to access international academic offers without having to physically move, which facilitates participation in quality intercultural and academic experiences from their place of residence. Through this option, participants broaden their education with new educational perspectives, strengthen their autonomy and digital skills, and establish academic links in global contexts.
Financial Support
and Scholarships
All students who participate in the UCUENCA Global Program receive partial scholarships for one academic semester abroad. This means that they do not have to pay tuition at the host university.
In the case of virtual mobility, the courses offered by foreign universities are 100% free for UCUENCA students.
In addition, the University of Cuenca offers a range of complementary scholarships, which depending on their type may cover accommodation and food expenses, or include stipends and financial aid to support the international experience of the participants.

We enthusiastically welcome students from partner universities with which we have cooperation agreements, as well as free students from other higher education institutions who wish to take courses for one or two semesters.

From the Direction of National and International Cooperation, we accompany incoming students throughout the application, orientation and adaptation process, ensuring a significant formative and intercultural experience.
About the Program
In the framework of strengthening the internationalization strategies of the curriculum of our academic offerings, the University of Cuenca invites all teachers to participate in the Internationalization at Home Program. This initiative seeks to integrate global and intercultural dimensions in the teaching-learning processes, promoting international academic experiences without the need for physical mobility. The objective is to promote the internationalization of the curriculum, generate spaces for intercultural and linguistic exchange, and enrich the academic experience of teachers and students.

La Universidad de Cuenca y la Fundación Municipal El Barranco suscribieron un convenio de cooperación que permitirá desarrollar un estudio sobre el impacto del Parque de los Jóvenes, un nuevo espacio público diseñado con y para adolescentes de la ciudad. Este parque estará ubicado en la parroquia Huayna-Cápac, en la margen norte del río Yanuncay, entre los puentes de las avenidas Francisco Moscoso y Gapal.
